Town Hall Meeting Tomorrow (Monday, May 17)

We hope you can join us this next Monday evening, May 17 at 6:30pm on Zoom for another Town Hall meeting to discuss more details and address any concerns or questions you may have in the process of our congregation moving toward offering in-person worship beginning June 13. Watch your email for the zoom link. You can still watch the discussion from the first Town Hall meeting here.

Please continue to pray over this process.

In an effort to serve the needs of our congregation and local community while being conscious of our witness of Jesus to the watching world, we have moved prayerfully, slowly, and in every way trying to weigh the guidance from the health department, school district, and our denomination. We know that some of our congregation are anxious about moving forward while others have been ready to try in person gatherings for some time now. No matter where you land on that spectrum, please know that our number one priority is to help point people to Jesus and to care for our church family and the community in which we live. Change, even positive change, causes fear and anxiety. Like we need more of that during a pandemic!

Pentecost Live Stream

On May 23rd, Pentecost Sunday, we are going to attempt to live stream the music, sermon, and Communion via Zoom at 5pm. This will allow our church, musicians, and staff an opportunity to work through some of the growing pains of moving to a hybrid service. We hope it reduces anxiety by taking a baby step between our current format and what things may look like on June 13th.

Your access to Zoom will remain the same. You can expect an email with the Zoom link on Sunday morning and you’ll interact the same way you do currently.

Welcome Nathaniel!

LSCC has created a temporary, part-time position called Worship Team Coordinator, and Nathaniel Wilson has  accepted the role.

With so many extra elements to consider while we transition to a live stream, hybrid worship gathering, Nathaniel will work to help support the worship teams and provide an consistent, encouraging presence to help the church navigate a very new season for the life of our church. For more details, see pastor Chris’ letter.

LSCC Congregational Meeting June 6, 6pm

Each year LSCC hosts two congregational meetings (in January and June) in order to reflect on what God has done in and through us, to consider what he is calling us to next, and to do the important work of electing officers and passing our operating budget.

On June 6, after the Live@5 Zoom service, we’ll take a brief break, then reflect together on the first half of this year in ministry together. LSCC Partners will have the opportunity to vote on our Lead Team and Nominating Committee nominees.

All are invited and partners should expect to participate if at all possible.

Register Here to attend in person!

LiveStream will be available Here.

Combined Worship Service–May 30

On May 30, at 10am we will have the opportunity to worship together with other congregations in the back yard at Bellingham Covenant Church. Seating will be limited, but there will be a Live Stream option available for everyone. We will not have our Live@5 service that night.

Come enjoy an evening with friends in the park! Protocols prevent sharing of food, so be sure to bring a picnic dinner if you want to eat at the park.

We plan to meet:

Sunday, May 30 @ 5:30 at Squalicum Creek Park

Friday, June 11 @ 5:30 at the Lake Padden Playgoround area

Friday, July 23, 4:00-6:30pm at Marine Park in Fairhaven

We will observe current mask and physical distancing protocols.
Masks and Sanitizer will be available.
Check out our Event Page for more information

Since we are uncertain when social distancing will cease, the Whatcom County Pregnancy Clinic has decided to again make this year’s Walk/Run a virtual event. So, how do you start? Check out the WCPC Walk/Run for life event page!

Save the date 9-Noon on Saturday June 5 for a one day conference focusing on justice issues for the Pacific Northwest Conference! Registration and information available online here.
