-From Sarah Lawlor:
I have been missing all the voices and faces in our church family and when I saw this book is on sale right now, it got me thinking. I have been slowly savoring my way through these cozy, rich everyday liturgies for the past year, the liturgy of being late, of passing the peace with our relationships, of carving out new rhythms and habits and so on. It’s been so transformative in my daily monotony. I wondered if any ladies would want to read and debrief chapters over zoom through a super informal sort of book club? This book is on a super sale right now through June 29 [tomorrow], so it’s only $10.
Ladies, if you are interested in joining a book club for Liturgy of the Ordinary, please contact Sarah Lawlor.
–Family Resource Center Food Delivery
In the last 5 weeks volunteers have distributed nearly 3,000 healthy Food Lifeline boxes to families connected with the Bellingham School District on Mondays, in conjunction with student meal distribution. Demand for these boxes continues and Food Services plans to continue the program throughout the summer but this is only possible with volunteers.
If you have the time and energy this summer, please sign up for one or more shifts starting next week in this updated SignUp Genius. Feel free to send the link to family or friends who may also be interested. You can contact Jennifer Gaer directly if they have any questions.
This is a labor of love for our families and we so appreciate your time, energy and commitment to insuring they are food secure.
-LSCC’s Phased Preparedness Approach
At this time we are recommending that we do not gather as a large group in person, inside, until Phase Four. The attached graph outlines a very basic strategy for how our congregation will navigate Washington State’s Phased Approach.
Please know that we will stay on the alert for new data and updated guidelines that may help us safely move toward large group gatherings sooner. Nothing is set in stone if new, positive changes or data shed light on better practices.
-The Whatcom Unified Command Center (WUC) in collaboration with the Bellingham Food Bank is seeking drivers to help with food distribution. To apply or view other volunteer opportunities in this time, visit the Whatcom Unified Command website.
-If you would like to join our mailing list, please let us know! We typically send one email per week to this list with all of the current church announcements.
-Morgan is coordinating care within our congregation. If you need help, or even someone to make a grocery store run, please contact Morgan.
-If you have prayer requests, please submit those HERE.
-If you would like to set up a time to talk with Pastor Chris, contact him directly HERE.
