The Lighthouse Mission is moving Base Camp out of Bellingham High School, let’s help!

Saturday, July 18th 9am-11am

Bridget Reeves, Associate Executive Director at The Lighthouse Mission, is coordinating a deep clean of the High School spaces that were used by guests since March. We can come alongside this important ministry to help with surface cleaning before the keys are handed back over to the school district in preparation for school in the fall.

Go to the SignUpGenius to get your name on the list. This opportunity is for all who would like to help, children need to be with a parent or guardian at all times. Cleaning supplies will be provided and jobs will be assigned on arrival; please wear your own mask (extras will be available if you forget). 10-20 helpers would be ideal.

Family Resource Center Food Delivery

In the last 5 weeks volunteers have distributed nearly 3,000 healthy Food Lifeline boxes to families connected with the Bellingham School District on Mondays, in conjunction with student meal distribution. Demand for these boxes continues and Food Services plans to continue the program throughout the summer but this is only possible with volunteers.

If you have the time and energy this summer, please sign up for one or more shifts starting next week in this updated SignUp Genius. Feel free to send the link to family or friends who may also be interested. You can contact Jennifer Gaer directly if they have any questions.

This is a labor of love for our families and we so appreciate your time, energy and commitment to insuring they are food secure.

At this time we are recommending that we do not gather as a large group in person, inside, until Phase Four. The attached graph outlines a very basic strategy for how our congregation will navigate Washington State’s Phased Approach.

Please know that we will stay on the alert for new data and updated guidelines that may help us safely move toward large group gatherings sooner. Nothing is set in stone if new, positive changes or data shed light on better practices.

-The Whatcom Unified Command Center (WUC) in collaboration with the Bellingham Food Bank is seeking drivers to help with food distribution. To apply or view other volunteer opportunities in this time, visit the Whatcom Unified Command website.

-If you would like to join our mailing list, please let us know! We typically send one email per week to this list with all of the current church announcements.

-Morgan is coordinating care within our congregation. If you need help, or even someone to make a grocery store run, please contact Morgan.

-If you have prayer requests, please submit those HERE.

-If you would like to set up a time to talk with Pastor Chris, contact him directly HERE.

-If you need financial help during this crisis please contact our Lead Team Chair, Ryan Wasserman or Pastor Chris.
