One of the hidden gems of the Firs Ministry Centers is the Chalet at Mt. Baker. Back in 2014 our congregation held our first ever all-church retreat at the Chalet. We enjoyed the close proximity to stunning hikes, the peaceful mornings with occasional black bear sightings, and the incredible hospitality of the camp staff in making our stay about Jesus and relationships.

Next week, the Chalet is getting a much-needed new roof. Part of the process is disposing of the existing shingles. That’s where you come in.

LSCC needs 4-6 volunteers on Thursday and Friday, August 27 and 28 to help pick up discarded shingles and put them in a dumpster. We’ll work from 9-3 each day. You can sign up for as many of the three-hour shifts as you want.

Create It Tuesday is for everyone- kids and adults alike. Although, the crafts are simple enough for kids to complete, they are a great starting point for any adult interested in creating! Art is such a wonderful outlet of expression and full of grace and also FUN! Supply bags are on Jen Milsten’s front porch all week. New crafts available each Tuesday. Check out the LSCC Life Together Facebook page for more details!

At this time we are recommending that we do not gather as a large group in person, inside, until Phase Four. The attached graph outlines a very basic strategy for how our congregation will navigate Washington State’s Phased Approach.

Please know that we will stay on the alert for new data and updated guidelines that may help us safely move toward large group gatherings sooner. Nothing is set in stone if new, positive changes or data shed light on better practices.

-The Whatcom Unified Command Center (WUC) in collaboration with the Bellingham Food Bank is seeking drivers to help with food distribution. To apply or view other volunteer opportunities in this time, visit the Whatcom Unified Command website.

-If you would like to join our mailing list, please let us know! We typically send one email per week to this list with all of the current church announcements.

-Morgan is coordinating care within our congregation. If you need help, or even someone to make a grocery store run, please contact Morgan.

-If you have prayer requests, please submit those HERE.

-If you would like to set up a time to talk with Pastor Chris, contact him directly HERE.
